Liability

Liability and personal injury investigations

Auto, premises, and general liability claims are won and lost on what the scene and the witnesses actually show. We get to both before the record disappears.

Scene and evidence documentation

Conditions change. Surfaces are repaired, signage is added, lighting is replaced, and business camera systems overwrite in as little as a week. Early scene work fixes the condition in time with photographs, measurements where relevant, and a record of what cameras exist and who controls them.

Witnesses and third-party video

Canvassing recovers what the initial claim report missed: the business next door with an exterior camera pointed at the lot, the resident who saw the fall, the delivery driver who was parked across the street. We identify them, obtain recorded statements where they will provide one, and preserve the video before it cycles.

Damages verification

On soft-tissue and disputed-damages files, surveillance and open-source documentation establish the claimant's actual functional level. This is frequently the difference between a demand and a defensible valuation.

Frequently asked questions

How soon after a loss should a scene investigation be ordered?
As early as possible. Many commercial camera systems retain footage for seven to thirty days, and physical conditions are often altered within days of a reported incident.
Can you obtain surveillance footage from a business?
We identify camera locations, determine who controls the system and the retention period, and request the footage. A business may decline, in which case the documented existence and retention window supports a preservation letter or subpoena from counsel.
Do you handle premises as well as auto files?
Yes — premises, auto, and general liability, for both first-party and third-party claims.
